Hello everybody,

I´ve come up with a new idea for our blog...

I´m going to put your mind to the test with some riddles and brain teasers every week. So, browse around and test yourself with these mind puzzles.

An easy riddle to start with.

The part of the bird
that is not in the sky,
which can swim in the ocean
and always stays dry.

Question: What is it?

Now, try this brain teaser.

You're driving a bus that is leaving on a trip from Pennsylvania and ending in New York. To start off with, there were 32 passengers on the bus. At the next bus stop, 11 people get off and 9 people get on. At the next bus stop, 2 people get off and 2 people get on. At the next bus stop, 12 people get on and 16 people get off. At the next bus stop, 5 people get on and 3 people get off. Question: What color are the bus driver's eyes?

Come on, send your answers before next Thursday!!

Good luck.

Carmela.

Leprechauns are green
Using their green hats
Can disappear behind the rainbow

You can track them down among the shamrocks

WEAR GREEN ON SAINT PATRICK´S DAY!!

It´s St. Patrick´s Day this coming Tuesday and we´re planning to celebrate it at our school. How? Wearing something green!!

But, why celebrate it?
St. Patrick is Ireland´s patron saint, and March 17th , St. Patrick´s Day, marks his Roman Catholic feast day.
He is most known for driving the snakes from Ireland. It is true there are no snakes in Ireland, and there probably never have been.... Driving the snakes from Ireland was probably symbolic of putting an end to pagan practice. While not the first to bring christianity to Ireland, it´s St. Patrick who is said to have encountered the Druids at Tara and abolished their pagan rites. The story holds that he converted the warrior chiefs and princes, baptizing them and thousands of their subjects in the "Holy Wells" that still bear this name.
Saint Patrick´s Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck and it is celebrated all around the world. Parades worldwide are decked out in colourful green and it is a day when everyone aspires to be Irish, and there are festival parades in all of the major cities of the world on March 17th, most particularly where there is an Irish diaspora.
HAPPY ST. PADDY´S DAY TO ALL YOU GUYS THAT CELEBRATE IT!!!
If you don´t, may you have the luck of the Irish anyway!!!

Your teachers.

Hi!

A new issue of Speak Up is on the shelf, waiting for new readers. With the usual mix of information and entertainment, this month's magazine features articles on Cambridge University, St. Patrick's day parades around the world and many more...

...plus a terrific film starring Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, and Eric Bana: "The other Boleyn Girl." Mean, mean (but lucky) Henry VIII...

Have fun!
